2016 Gameplan: Indy Splunk User Group

The purpose of the Splunk User Group is for individuals to connect with like-minded people who are passionate about Splunk technology.

Group updates to discuss for 2016:

  1. NEW Splunk User Group Leadership
  2. Meeting Format Updates
  3. We Need Your Help in 2016

1. NEW Splunk User Group Leadership

Please join me in welcoming Patti Sutton (Salesforce) and Allen Tucker (Indiana University) as our thought co-leaders. Aaron Abodeely will continue to act as organizer. If you are interested in leadership, contact aaron.abodeely@kinneygroup.com to talk about ways to get involved.

2. Meeting Format Updates

The format changes below will require participation from the group. After all, it’s YOUR group! Each meeting will have two primary components:

    1. A guest user to lead the discussion about how they are using Splunk in their organization: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
      • The good: share winning use cases and your knowledge about the platform.
      • The bad and the ugly: if you’re brave enough, share roadblocks with your implementation or with a business problem. This will facilitate input and to elicit critical thinking from the group.
    2. “Splunk Answers Corner” each meeting for people to come with specific questions or problems and get advice from certified Splunk architects.

On the Books for Early 2016
We have two users committed to present use cases and lead discussions. Behold, the upcoming meetings:

Both meetings will be at Elbow Room – 605 N Pennsylvania St, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

3. We Need Your Help in 2016

  • Tuesday, July 19th, 2016 – Presenter TBD
  • Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 – Presenter TBD
  • Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 – Presenter TBD

Want to lead the session on behalf of your organization (solo or with your peers)? Want to lead a session agnostic of your organization?

Please, contact aaron.abodeely@kinneygroup.com and we can discuss! We will make leading the discussion simple. The group will handle all logistics so that you simply have to handle the thought leadership.
